On behalf of Fenland District Council, an intrusive geotechnical ground investigation was undertaken the purpose of which was to provide information for use in the design of an extension to an existing road in Wisbech.

The investigation was planned and undertaken by Pristine.  Due to concerns with the ground conditions in the area, boreholes were formed along the length of the road and geotechnical laboratory testing was performed to assess both the nature of the ground encountered and its engineering characteristics.  Testing indicated low CBR values and the boreholes showed layers of peat.

An interpretative report was provided presenting the factual information from the investigation and giving design parameters for use in the construction of the new road.
