Pristine undertook an integrated Geo-Environmental ground investigation for the construction of a residential development at Station Road, Wilburton.

The works consisted of a Phase 1 desk study including the production of a conceptual model and a review of historical mapping to identify in ground risks.  A Phase 2 intrusive investigation was subsequently planned and undertaken.  This included deep cable percussive boreholes and trial pits.  Soakaway testing was also performed in accordance with BRE Digest 365.

In-situ and laboratory geotechnical testing was performed to provide information to allow the ground conditions to be classified, along with chemical analysis to also allow an assessment of the contamination status to be made.

The information collected allowed an interpretative report to be prepared giving recommendations for use in the design of foundations, floor slabs, pavements, drainage, below ground concrete and an assessment of the contamination status.
